The concept for the brand Khayal originated in a drawing painted in the late 1970’s.
It was a majestic, artistic example, one which transcended an original and cultural experience, through the outlines of this Arabic horseman in warrior garb; whose sword was drawn to the air in a tribal gesture of peaceful salute.
During the 70’s, this artwork was presented to a number of individuals in the business world; whom however, failed to consider or recognize the symbolic and eventful potential behind the design. At the time this seemed unfortunate, but was it to prove a blessing in disguise…
Recently, the design was accidentally rediscovered, and immediately the owners were captivated by its profound meaning. They decided that if used properly the drawing could be the source of immense success. Fuelled by a passion that had engulfed them, they began to pursue a direction for this artistic find.
It was clear from the outset that consumers- in particular of Middle Eastern origin- would easily associate with the symbolism of the design, and therefore, it was unanimously decided that the design be moulded into a tobacco product. So it would be that an elegant and luxurious cigarette brand was conceived.
The product development process was aided by the collaboration and advice of very close friends and industry acclaimed professionals.
This harmonious collaboration led to an innovative, sleek and minimalist image to slowly take shape.
The type of tobacco blend that would be used in the products was formulated in close association with industry acclaimed tobacco leaf dealers, and tobacco blenders. A spirit of pro-activity and innovation became the central driving element behind the creation of these unique cigarette products.
Finally, Khayal White and Khayal Classic where born: “The first prestigious Arab branded cigarettes for the global market”.
